CampNearMe
Privacy Policy
Effective October 2, 2026 · last revised October 11, 2026
The short version
We collect what a booking needs and little else. Google Analytics counts your visit only if you say yes in the box that asks once; we run no advertising pixels and no other third-party trackers. We do not sell your information. And there is one sharing rule that matters more than any other, so it is not buried: when you book, your name, email address and phone number are given to the campground you booked.
Who is responsible
Room 2 Grow at Brandywine Creek LLC, a Michigan limited liability company, operating CampNearMe. Reach us at campnearme@jonathanarvay.com or 76447 34th Ave, Covert, MI 49043.
What we collect
When you book: your name, email address, phone number, the dates and site you chose, how many people are staying, and the amounts charged. We keep a reference to the payment, not your card details.
If you are an operator: your business contact details, the information you supply about your campground, and a record of correspondence we have had with you about listing. If we emailed you a link to a draft listing, we also note when that page is opened, so we know the email reached you. That note is the time only: nothing about who opened it, from where, or on what device.
Automatically: ordinary web server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps — kept for security and debugging. We do not build profiles from them.
Cookies: signing in (staff or campground operators) sets session cookies that are not readable by JavaScript and exist solely to keep you signed in. Browsing or booking as a guest sets none of these. The only other cookies are the ones the next section describes, and only if you said yes.
Who we give it to
The campground you book. Your name, email and phone go to that operator in full, unmasked. This is deliberate. You are staying at their property, they may need to reach you about your arrival, and we take the view that the relationship is yours and theirs rather than something we should sit in the middle of. Once we have passed your details on, that operator handles them under their own practices, not ours.
Our payment provider. Payments run through PAI’D, which processes the transaction and provides fraud and dispute services. The operator is the merchant of record.
Infrastructure providers who host the site and database on our behalf, under contract, and only to run the service.
Google, for Google Analytics, only after you say yes and only what the section above lists.
Where the law requires it, or to investigate fraud, abuse or a threat to someone’s safety.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Two things that share data, and what they don't carry
Calendar sync. An operator can subscribe their own booking system to a feed of their availability. That feed contains dates and the words “Booked” only — no guest name, email or phone — so a calendar file sitting in a third-party system never carries your identity.
Venue discovery. A campground operator can offer specific spaces to our sibling platform, SLRetreats, for retreats. What crosses is campground capacity and availability. No guest data is included, and nothing is shared for a campground whose operator has not opted that specific space in.
Campground records we compiled
Some campgrounds appear as unclaimed drafts built from public business data and from what the campground publishes on its own website. These hold business information — name, location, sites, rates — and no personal information beyond a business contact. If you operate one of these and want it removed, tell us and it goes the same day.
How long we keep it
Booking records are kept while the reservation is live and afterwards for as long as we need them for tax, accounting and dispute purposes. Server logs are kept for a short operational period. What Google Analytics holds about your visits, if you allowed it, is kept for 14 months. Ask us to delete your information and we will, except where we are required to keep a record of a completed transaction.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to campnearme@jonathanarvay.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge you for a reasonable request.
If you have already booked, remember that the operator also holds your details. Deleting them here does not delete them there — ask the operator directly.
Children
CampNearMe is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. A booking is made by an adult. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Security, and what happens if we get it wrong
We use ordinary safeguards — encrypted transport, access controls on the admin area, and card details we never see because we never handle them. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise.
If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you without unreasonable delay as required by Michigan law (MCL 445.72).
Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will tell you before it takes effect.
