Help with a booking
What to do when something about a booking is not right, and who can put it right.
Find your booking
Your confirmation email has a link to your booking’s own page. That page is your booking: it shows your dates, the campground’s address, phone number and email, and the button to cancel.
If you cannot find the email, ask for the link again: enter the address you booked with and the links to your bookings are sent to it. They go only to that address, so only you can open them.
Cancelling, and what you get back
You cancel from your booking’s page. There is nobody to ask and nothing to fill in.
Each campground sets how late you can cancel for free. The deadline is shown with its date and time, in the campground’s own time zone, on the booking form, at checkout, in your confirmation email and on your booking’s page. Cancel before it and you get back everything you paid, tax included. Cancelling costs nothing, and nobody has to approve the refund: it is sent as part of cancelling.
The policy that applies is the one you were shown when you booked. If the campground changes its policy afterwards, yours does not change.
A refund that has not arrived
A refund goes back to the card you paid with, and a card refund can take several days to show on a statement.
If your booking’s page says a refund is owed to you, it was not confirmed as sent, so it has to be checked, and sent by hand if it did not go, from the campground’s payment account. When that happens a message goes to the campground and to us, and your cancellation email says who was told. If it has not reached you in 10 days, write to us at campnearme@jonathanarvay.com.
A payment that is being checked
If your booking’s page says your payment is being checked, we have not yet had an answer from the payment provider about whether it went through. Your dates are kept for you while that is open.
Do not pay a second time. Open your booking’s page again in a few minutes: it asks the provider each time it loads. If the payment went through you will see your confirmation; if it did not, nothing is taken and you can try again. If it still says so after an hour, write to us at campnearme@jonathanarvay.com.
Booked the wrong dates
Open your booking’s page straight away. If it says you can still cancel for a full refund, cancel and book the dates you meant. Some campgrounds also give a short time after booking to undo a mistake; where one does, the policy you were shown says so and your booking’s page tells you while it is open.
If neither applies, call the campground. Their number is on your booking’s page. A campground can cancel a booking from its side, and when it does, the guest gets everything back whatever the policy says.
The campground cancelled my booking
You are emailed the moment it happens, with the reason the campground gave, and your booking’s page says the same. You get back everything you paid, whatever the cancellation policy says: the policy is about a guest changing their mind, and you did not.
The campground is not answering, or is not as listed
Your booking is with the campground, and its phone number and email are on its listing and on your booking’s page. A reply to any booking email goes to them.
If you cannot reach them, or the place is not what its listing says, write to us at campnearme@jonathanarvay.com with the campground’s name and your dates. We run this site. We can see your booking, tell you exactly what the record says, follow up a refund that is owed, and correct or take down a listing that is wrong. We cannot change a booking for a campground or refund you from its account: the terms say why.
Write to us
campnearme@jonathanarvay.com. Say which campground and which dates, and write from the address you booked with if you can. A person reads it.
