What claiming a listing actually means, and what it does not

EditorialJonathan (CampNearMe)

Some campgrounds appear here as unclaimed drafts, built from public business information and from what the campground publishes on its own website. If that is yours, you have not signed up for anything, you owe us nothing, and the page is not live or bookable.

Claiming means you take control of the listing: correcting what we got wrong, adding your sites and rates, and deciding whether to go live at all. Until then it is a draft with your name on it and nothing more.

The honest reason we build the draft first is that describing a listing is much less persuasive than showing you one. It also means the first conversation is about whether the details are right rather than whether you are interested in principle.

If you would rather the draft did not exist, say so and it is gone the same day. That is not a negotiating position — it is genuinely a one-line change and we would rather do it than argue.

  • An unclaimed draft is not public, not bookable, and not an endorsement of us.
  • Claiming does not commit you to going live.
  • Ask us to delete it and we will, same day.
